Update June 1, 2025: New consensus on fuel supply and role of BBT

In consultation between the Public Entity Bonaire (OLB) and the Dutch State it has been decided that the responsibility for the fuel supply will lie entirely with the OLB.
With this, the role of Bonaire Bon Transition (BBT) in the supply and storage of fuels on the island will disappear. Accordingly, BBT shall not build a fuel terminal on Bonaire. The possible future role of BBT within the energy transition on Bonaire is currently being evaluated.
